George Best is set to rule the New Years TV ratings with a show so brave he has already picked up awards for it.
The show, filmed 'years ago' before his untimely demise, entitled 'Visual Drinking' is in post-production at Pinewood Studios and has had finance from a veritable 'A' list of celebrities - Chris Evans, Murray Walker, Chas 'n Dave and Frank Sidebottom are all rumoured to have poured in the cash.
'I judge but I don't participate' is George's opening gambit as the curtains roll and the band strikes up. The contestants have their drinking measured by the 'reid-O-meter(tm)' but ultimately the public will decide who has taken the largest 'swig'.
Financer's Chas 'n Dave provide the theme tune 'I'm a thoroughly drunk man from old London Town'. It's also rumoured that the opening show will be performed in front of the Queen who more recently has decided a Royal policy of 'getting on the British Bandwaggon'.
A celebrity edition is also planned with Mike Myers, Tracy Ulman and Banarama already signed up. We think it's a winner George!
